I have always considered emo, gothic like a life style and to be frank I have never been a fan of it , but about paranormal , I believe that weird things happens, things which science cannot explain .

Science Can Explain Everything but human race isn't aware of matured science yet. and about paranormal, anything is possible and humans just need to be curious to turn this paranormal to normal.

I would not call it the dark side of mainstream culture, it is an alternative to a vanilla lifestyle and only as "dark" or "light" as the individual chooses to make it. People are more than capable of giving into their more base nature without gothic culture, occultism, paranormal activities, or vampirism. Sub-subcultures are a decoration, pretty but ultimately do not change the essential nature of anything you put them on.
