The 16th of December, 1971 is a red letter day in our national history. It was on this day we were to snatch our independences from Pakistan after a life and death liberation war for long nine months. On this day the Pakistani Army surrendered to the Indo-Bangladeshi High Command in Dhaka , ending the 9 month-long Bangladesh Liberation War and 1971 Bangladesh atrocities . General AAK Niazi , the Commanding officer of the Pakistani Armed Forces located in East Pakistan, surrenderedhis forces to Lt. Gen. Jagjit Singh Aurora , the Allied forces commander. This victory was a victory of right against wrong. It was a war of self-emancipation. Every year we observe this day in a colorful manner.This day reminds us of the supreme in a colorful manner.
