After considering many things and prefering Sony over Nikkon for better image stabilisation (see last page of the thread High Zoom Digital Camera), i have bought Sony Hx9v/B (B=Black) CyberShot Digital Point&Shoot camera. But this topic is actually made keeping in mind to give info about the features and techniques one should adopt to have perfect shots. In a few post here i will elaborate the special features it has to get the best

Lets talk about the most important thing now -zoom. It has 16x zoom and you may be tempted to go for Hx100v model for 30x zoom. But wait, that one is bulky and would not fit into your pocket. So Hx9v is preferred and the zoom power can cd increased using precision zoom and reducing the image size would give a perfect shot

In SCN i.e. Scene Selection Mode it has Backlight Correction HDR and also you can programme your camera in P mode e.g. You can take 3shots simultaneously without flash to obtain the perfect shot. This option is very good in Twilight situation. Flash can be disabled too. Background defocus and Sweep Panorama mode is special two features which other companies are trying to match.

In full zoom with precision zoom ( actual 16x zoom increases and becomes 64x ) the face can be perfectly recognizable and focus too good with image stabilisation power seems to be way ahead over Nikkon. (more info can be found in High Zone Digital Camera thread's last page)

'ISO' selection can also be done understanding the amount of light. Higher the ISO, censor becomes more sensitive towards light but ISO 800 is enough though ISO 1600 is good enough to give u regular size print
