Perhaps we define the word in different ways. In my culture, a witch follows the laws of the Wiccan Rede which say 'do what you want to do, as long as it does not cause harm'. black magic? Doesn't work, because what you do comes back to you 3fold (another one of the laws). Also, in my culture, 'witch' is another word for 'wise woman', later the word became accepted for both sexes.
