Wolphin

Animal hybrids really are quite fascinating, are they not? As you may already know, the animal hybrid, the"wholphin", has gained muchattention recently. The wholphin is a rare hybrid, born from the combined mating of a bottlenose dolphin and a false killer whale. Wholphins are definitely not as common as ligers and such, but they are still well-known to those more commonly informed people who keep up with themost interesting hybrid animals. In Captivity
There are currently only two wholphins in captivity, and they are both at Sea Life Park in the state of Hawaii. The first captive wholphin was a girl, born to a female bottlenose dolphin who shared her habitat with a male false killer whale. It is a very interesting fact that thefirst captive wolphin got an almost exact intermediate number of teeth between her parent species- 66. A bottlenose dolphin has 88 teeth and a false killer whale has 44 teeth. The first captive wholphin, whose name is Kekaimalu, has given birth to three wholphins, but unfortunatelythe first two died prematurely. Her third baby is still alive and well; both mother and daughter are living in captivity and are frequently a featured part of the main dolphin show at theSea Life Park. In The Wild
There have indeed been many reports of wholphins inthe wild, although the truths of these reports is still in debate. There most likely areat least a few of these rare hybrids in the wild, however. It is most certainly plausible.
